Goddess Guidance Card Readings

Here's what I "do":
I create some sacred space by lighting candles, gathering some of my favorite crystals and "smudging" (cleansing the negative energy/ions from the area, myself, and the cards) and taking some deep cleansing breaths to help ground me and clear my mind.
I pick up the cards and shuffle them while "tuning in" to my higher self, my guides and the energy of the person I am reading for and their current situation. I give the person an opportunity to ask a specific question or to just receive whatever message the cards want to give us. I continue to shuffle and play with the cards until I "feel" like stopping. I lay out each card with intention for the placement it will be in the spread I have chosen.
Once the cards are laid out I sit with them for a minute and see how it feels to me, what first impressions I get. From there I consult with the true intended meaning of the cards and convey their message to whom I am reading for. Often times the reading itself makes a lot more sense and resonates with the person getting the reading than me because they know their situation so much more than I. From there, we discuss and process the message they got from what was presented to them.
How it works:
I can not and will not even try to explain how this "works", just that, for whatever reason - it does seem to give us the message we need to hear in the moment we need to hear it. This could be many things. Synchronicity, Divine intervention and communication or maybe basic psychology and the power of suggestion. Regardless, each card truly does hold a message that is valuable and provides you with an opportunity to reflect on your current situation and choices and where you really want to go from here, which is always a good thing.
Gods and Goddesses? is this stuff evil?!
I believe that the concept of "Gods and Goddesses" is subject to the individuals interpretation. As an Agnostic, I am not here to credit or discredit your interpretation or justify mine. People from all backgrounds and religious or spiritual beliefs participate in tarot readings. It isn't "evil" or "the devil". It's just a form of communication, like a phone call, or a prayer. We're just giving this energy, or even the energy of our own highest consciousness, a tool to communicate back to us with.
