I have loved taking photos since I can remember. My grandmother was the one who always had the camera out and made us get together for pictures every time we saw each other. We would make fun of her, calling her the paparazzi, but - when it came down to it, those pictures were an important part of all of our lives. We would always have them, and even the memory attached to taking them (ie: making fun of grandma). Now more than ever, I realize that photography is a window into a moment in reality, a moment that will quickly pass by. It's almost cheating to be able to capture such emotion, such truth, and preserve it for lifetimes.
My approach in photography is part journalistic and part creative. I have years of experience shooting photos of people, places, and things almost equally. Generally, I like to get an idea for what my client is looking for and then adjust my focus from there.

The journey into parenthood is not always easy, but, it is always amazing and special. Documenting these beautiful moments and looking back on the strength it took to get to the other side is very empowering. My goal when photographing a birth is to capture the little things like the environment and tiny glances between loves just as much as the big moments like the first time you lay your eyes on your baby. |
How does it work?
This must be booked as far in advance as possible as I will then be on call for your birth - therefore there is very limited availability for this. We will schedule a phone chat or an in-person meeting to discuss your boundaries and preferences. Then, parents contact me when labor has begun and we will keep in touch until you are in an active phase of labor and it is time for me to come and take photos. My goal is to be a fly on the wall and to create as little disturbance as possible the entire time I am there. I generally stay from 1-2 hours after the birth. Long enough to get all those special firsts like the skin to skin, nursing, and measurements.
Birth Journey Photography includes:
All Raw Hi-Res images as well as edited images to print at will.
On-Call 2 weeks before & 2 Weeks After Your Due Date
Photo Book of your journey
Prints and Announcements also available for additional fees.
Individual Service: $650.00
Incorporated into our doula services: additional $350.00

Sexy YOU Confidence Sessions will help you define what makes you feel "sexy". We encourage our clients to define this for themselves and we work with the individual to dig into their own sensuality. After that, we will shoot based on those discoveries while working to make our subject comfortable in her skin. These sessions can also include Hair & Makeup for those in need of some tips and help in this department as well. Overall, after this session - we want the REAL you to step into her power and then capture that in photos to perpetually remind you of how absolutely beautiful and unique YOU are.
